How come I got to bring home three boxes? Of course, there’s also one for the guests at Christmas. All I have to do is look at how many purple chocolates are in a jar. So what can you do to avoid diving into the bubbling sea of delicious chocolates this Christmas?

EFT was founded by Gary Craig in the US and can be described as an emotional version of acupuncture, which involves tapping and stimulating certain acupuncture points with the fingertips. STEP 1.

Take it in your hand and smell the chocolate. In this way, breathe in the smell of this beautiful brown substance deeply. Ask yourself how much you crave chocolate using a number from 0 to 10 (0: not at all, 10: you can eat it in one bite, meaning you crave it so much).

STEP 2.

With two fingers of one hand, tap the fleshy part of the other hand, just below the pinky, to the wrist. This is called the “karate kick. Continue to tap firmly, but gently, as you say the following words.

This chocolate smells really good, and I want to eat it right now, and I’m sure it tastes good too, but I accept myself wholeheartedly and deeply.

Repeat this sentence twice more.

STEP 3.

Then tap seven times with two fingers on the pressure point, reciting the following sentence each time.

I really want to eat this delicious chocolate.

  • POINT 1 – The beginning of the eyebrows on the bone above the nose.
  • POINT 2 – Pull the eyebrow all the way down until it touches the bone.
  • POINT 3 – Draw a line down the middle of the eye to the bone just below the eye and touch it.
  • POINT 4 – Between the nose and the lips.
  • POINT 5 – In the hollow between the mouth and the tip of the chin.
  • POINT 6 – Under the neck, starting right next to the collarbone.
  • POINT 7 – Under the armpits, where a woman’s bra strap is located.

Tap each point as you say the phrase and breathe deeply.

STEP 4.

Then take the chocolate back into your hand, smell it, and rated on a scale of 0 to 10 how much you would like to eat that chocolate. Hopefully, your craving will decrease. To decrease your craving further, simply tap the seven pressure points again. You can change the words slightly.

If you want to eat chocolate, even though you know you are not physically hungry, you may still want to eat it for other reasons, such as the taste or smell. Try to create that desire, for example. You’ll be in control of your chocolate!
